EXPLORE-PsA Study
Brief description of the EXPLORE-PsA Study:
Psoriatic arthritis is a multidomain disease, and optimal management requires regular, standardized assessment of both disease activity and impact. Despite international recommendations supporting treat to target strategies and composite measures, real world use of these tools varies widely and remains incompletely characterized. EXPLORE-PsA is a global Young-GRAPPA initiative designed to map current clinical practice in PsA disease activity assessment, identify barriers to implementation, and highlight actionable opportunities for education, tool simplification, and digital integration across diverse health systems.

Study Design
Format: Global online survey developed in English, piloted for clarity and face validity.
Estimated completion time: ~15 minutes.
Target respondents: Rheumatologists and rheumatology trainees worldwide.
Distribution channels: GRAPPA networks, national societies, professional email lists, and social media.
Objectives
Primary Objective: To describe and understand the use of outcome measures in routine clinical practice for psoriatic arthritis worldwide.
Key Secondary Objectives:
- Compare outcome measure use across practice settings (academic vs non-academic)
- Identify barriers to routine use of outcome measures in PsA
- Explore geographic and health system drivers of practice variation
Anticipated Study Outcomes and Impact
EXPLORE-PsA will provide a comprehensive overview of how PsA disease activity is assessed globally, quantify variation across regions and clinician groups, and identify practical barriers that drive the gap between guideline recommendations and implementation. Findings are intended to inform targeted education, support tool simplification, and accelerate digital solutions that reduce workflow burden and improve feasibility in routine care.
